Smooth Splice |

After the new inside and outside ferrule have cured, place the blank in a rod lathe and further smooth out the transition between the original blank and the splice. Try to get the splice as close as possible to the original diameter of the broken blank. Take your time and REMEMBER: DO NOT FLEX the blank - the sleeve's fibers are aligned along the length of the blank. Flexing the blank now will split the sleeve. |
